Dr. Mahendra Narwaria obtained his Masters degree in General Surgery from B J M C, Ahmadabad and pursued his interest in Surgical Gastroenterology at Sanjay Gandhi Post-graduate Institute (SGPGI), Lucknow.

Having acquired the skills of Laparoscopic Surgery at SGPGI and with Dr. C. Palanivelu, Dr. Narwaria brought advanced laparoscopic procedures to the state of Gujarat, for which patients had to travel once to one of the few centers in the country.

His perpetual drive for excellence and up-gradation of skills, prompted him to take up 'Bariatric Surgery', and he Pioneered in the field of bariatric surgery in India and till date has performed more than 2500 Bariatric procedures.

• He has published more than 10 research papers in indexed journals and also written Book chapters in reputed Text books.
• First Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy in India-2004.
• First Scar less Sleeve Gastrectomy in India-2009.
• First Hybrid NOTES (Trans Vaginal) in Asia Pacific region.
• Performed on Heaviest patient (Weight-248 kg, 248 kg, BMI-97 kg/M2 ) - 1st time in India.
